BRASIDAS SP. Bukidnon
This one was found last October 2012 in Valancia/Bukidnon/Mindanao island in company of our friends Francis Seow and Ian Abercrombie. May be a new species of the genus :)) It is feeding on a mix of 3 plants : Mango (Mangifera) + Guava + Schefflera. I still have this species currently in culture and it is doing fine, eggs have been laid already and are incubating :)
STENOBRIMUS TAGALOG
Surprised i was to find many of those in many parts of the Island, especially the female that was UNKNOWN and is featured here for the first time :)) Have look at the species very closely many times and can't actually find any difference(s) with the Luzon mainland species Stenobrimus bolivari.......Same foodplant too > ferns.
MITHRENES SP. Polillo
A common species from Polillo island, East coast of Luzon. Seems very alike the green species from the same genus I found on the main island of Luzon a couple of years ago. However according Oskar (Oskar Conle / Phasmatodea) it is a new species :))
MITHRENES SP. Banaue
Found many Mithrenes in the past years since I started collecting, but this one is "special". Found it at high altitude above 1500masl. He's particularity ? it is only half the size of all other Mithrenes species i found before and even Mithrenes sp Ilanin which is the smallest so far is still big compared to this one.. :) UNfortunately I failed to culture it, eggs never emerged.....probably a problem with the lowland temperatures here....definitively wanna find species again and try culture it again.
PERIPHETES SP Marinfanta
Found that beautiful species for the first time in late 2011 at Marinfanta road km95 and then again in the summer of 2012 at the same location. However each time only males :( female still at large and unknown.......one more reason to go back there again and again :)
MICROPHYLLIUM PUSSILULLUM
Found that fantastic and extremely rare species in October 2010 on top of a mountain at 1600masl exactly in dense fog and very cold weather in Central Luzon. This species is so rare the specimen here featured in the paratype of it (in the private collection of Joachim Bresseel). The holotype was found in the same area more than 70 years ago...... Eggs were UNKNOWN, featured here for the very first time EVER !!!!
