Marinfanta road Km120 > Infanta > Quezon Province > East LuzonWhat a fantastic beautiful species.......isn't it ?We found several pairs of those there again in the same place we visited together with Joachim, Rob and Tim a trimester ago. They were found on Bamboo, always high about 7 / 8 feet (2 / 2,50m). First time we found that genus on Bamboo, here in Manila they were feeding on Bamboo too, difficult, because Bamboo dies within 24 hours in water bottles, so non-stop food changes......definitively the live Bamboo in pots is "the" solution.Pics below : 3 first are adult male > next 3 are subadult female and last three are adult female.
Marinfanta road Km120 > Infanta > Quezon Province > East LuzonFirst two pictures showing location in which we found that particular "new" species (and a few others.....), second picture left side Rob Krijns hill climbing :), ahead of him (not in picture) Joachim Bresseel, Tim Bollens and myself, a trimester ago.Beautiful, large, species we found in a few specimens only, femelle is pretty large all brown color, quite unattractive I must say, male large as well and nicely colored, red, green, dark blue and black. Typical Eucarcharus male behaviour "dancing" fast left/right motion while walking and at the first danger drops immediately on the floor and run.....!Here in Manila, they immediately accepted Guava as a replacement foodplant.
Mount Apo > South East MindanaoA nice species from the Southern part of the country that was brought to me by Joachim Bresseel / Rob Krijns and Tim Bollens from their visit there a trimester ago, Thanks guys :))No difficulties what so ever to breed that species on guava it accepted immediately, lower temperatures and a fair amount of water spray however.
