SOSIBIA PARVIPENNIS

A medium/small specie common all over the Philippines, my breeding originating from West-Luzon. Both sexes are flying very well, eggs very small emerge quickly 6-7 weeks only. I'm breeding them locally on Guava, in Europe foodplants are Bramble and Hypericum.

Another huge size specie originating from South-East Luzon. Same foodplants as sp. ponderosa.

Found that beautiful and very popular specie long time ago, exactly 8 years ago, by pure coincidence, wasn't looking for Phasmids at that time !!!!


Have breed it successfully since then in many generations. Local food plant in breeding is Guava, in Europe : Oak-Bramble.

SUNGAYA INEXPECTATA [lowland]

I discovered the previously unknown male of that specie last June 2008 on the West coast of Luzon.

Here for the FIRST TIME EVER the picture of the said male !

Easy breeding , locally, on Mango, guava, schefflera and many others. In Europe easy on Bramble and oak.

Here below 3 beautiful female variations found at the same site, interesting the first one (white patched) was found in the deeper forest , the second one (black one) was found very close to the sea shore and the third one (yellow banded) in an area in the middle of the previous two !!
